GREATEST EVILS (ANIMAL FARM)
REFLECTION
Process: This was another timed-writing for English. I had 20 minutes to write about the quote: "It has been said that the greatest evils in the world are a result of mass apathy as much as of the individual evil." During this time, I brainstormed about this quote in my head and tried to understand what it meant. Once I had got the meaning of the quote, I related it to Animal Farm and made several connections.
Product: I wasn't able to finish everything in time but I feel that I had sufficient evidence to prove my point about what the quote meant and what the "Greatest evil" is. My writing was made against Napoleon on how he had done one of the greatest evils and it was not only him, but others who did not care of his actions. I was able to prove this with evidence from the book. I explained how Napoleon was conspiratorial and the actions he had done to become the villain of the greatest evils.
Growth: Again, since this was timed-writing, it pushed my abilities by forcing me to write and explain my thoughts in a short period of time. Also, I had to make connections between one quote and an entire book. This was pretty hard but i was able to pull it off and i learned more about how Napoleon was not the only one who had committed the greatest evil. It was also others around him who had done nothing to prevent the action.
Improvement: I would like to get better at timed-writings and get to the point clearly. Also, if i was a quicker writer, I could incorporate quotes from the book to back up my ideas. Using higher vocabulary is also another future goal that I have.
